EasyIndex

EasyIndex Documentation
Description
Easy Index is a simple system for creating and submitting static doorway pages for search engine
promotion. Each time this script runs it takes a word from a list of keywords, combines it with a
template provided and creates a random page designed to rank highly in search engines. This page
is then automatically submitted to each search engine by the script itself. The script can easily be
run on a scheduled crontab job allowing automatic running in the background.
Features
Creates search engines doorway pages for specific keywords.
Submits pages to search engines automatically.
Runs on a crontab, for full automation.

Installation
Configuration

1. The spammer.cfg file contains several variables that will need editing before the script will
run on your server.

email=you@yourdomain.com
This is the email address used in submissions to Search Engines.

documentroot=/home/user/html/pages/
This directory you’d like to create your doorway pages.

urlprefix=pages/
The Relative URL too the same path as above in documentroot.

domain=yourdomain.com
Your domain.

usekw=0
Tells Easy Index to use the keyword as the subdomain, directory and filename.
i.e. http://keyword.yourserver.com/keyword/keyword.html
If this file already exists the script will append a number to the end of the file being
submitted.
i.e. http://keyword.yourserver.com/keyword/keyword01.html
Any spaces in the keyword will be converted to a hyphen (-).

templates=templates.txt
This file must contain the names of each of your template files.

2. Next you will need to edit banners.txt so that it contains your sponsors banner information.
/banners/bannername.gif http://sponsor.com text
The Banner’s Relative URL followed by the Sponsors URL and finally the Text Link
that will appear under the banner. Each banner must be entered on a new line.
3. Then you must change text link information by editing the textlinks.txt file.
http://sponsor.url text
Sponsors URL followed by the Text Link to be used. Each banner must be entered on a
new line.
4. Edit the templates.txt file so that it contains the filenames of each of your template files.
You must enter the filenames of each of your templates each one on a new line.

When creating your own templates you’ll have to be familiar with the variables below.

%key1%
Inserts the keyword in all lower case

%key2%
Inserts the keyword with the first letter capitalised

%key3%
Inserts the keyword in all capitol letters

%banner%
Inserts one random line from banners.txt

%textlink%
Inserts one random line from textlinks.txt

Uploading

1. Create a directory for the script on your server, which must have CGI access.
2. Upload all files in ASCII mode.
3. CHMOD .CGI files to 755.
4. CHMOD all other files to 666.

Running

Easy Index can be run via two different methods. First you can call it from the browser by entering
the URL of spammer.cgi or you can setup a crontab to run that file for you. If unfamiliar with
crontab its best to ask your hosting company to add it for you. Tell them at what times of day
you’d like the script to run, we’d suggest 3-5 times a day is fine.
