PC BulkMail

PC BulkMail Documentation
Description
PC Bulk Mailer allows for fast and effortless sending of thousands
of email messages in a quick and efficient manner.
Features
Simple Fast sending of large email lists.

Installation
Configuration
The bulkmail.cgi file contains several variables that will
need editing before the script will run on your server.

$basedir = "/home/user/html/bulkmail";
Replace this with the full path to the folder you’ll be
uploading the scripts to. Do not include the trailing slash.

$errtop = $basedir."/templates/bm_errtop.html";
$errbottom = $basedir."/templates/bm_errbot.html";
$sentok = $basedir."/templates/bm_sentok.html";

These templates control the HTML to be displayed once the
script has finished running, here you can define the look
and feel for both errors and successful executions.
By default these shouldn’t need changing.

$sendmail = "/usr/sbin/sendmail";

This is the path to the sendmail program on your server,
if you are unsure about this please ask your admin or
type whereis sendmail from a telnet prompt.

$memberlist = $basedir."/members.txt";
This file should contain email addresses with one on each
line, you could also remove the $basedir from this statement
and define a full path to a file anywhere on your server.

Index.html is the HTML page that displays the form used to
enter the details of any email you’d like to send. This file
can be renamed or moved to any other folder, as long as
action="bulkmail.cgi" points to the path containing the
bulkmail.cgi script.

Uploading

1. Create the directory you specified in bulkmail.cgi as the $basedir.
2. Upload all files and subfolders in ASCII mode.
3. CHMOD .CGI files to 755.
4. CHMOD all other files to 644.
Running

Open your browser to the path where index.html has been saved. This
will give you a form in which you can enter all the details of the
email you’d like to send. This includes the address you’d like to
have replies go to, the subject and the contents of the email message
to be sent.

Once you’ve entered the appropriate details and hit send, wait a few
moments and a page will be displayed telling you of the success or
failure of the operation.
