Description
PC DupeCheck will check any list of e-mail addresses and will remove all duplicates. Can run as both a CGI script or a command line tool.
Installation
The first thing to do is create a blank list of emails if you do not already
have a list. To do this type in "touch emails.txt" where emails.txt is the
name of the file to create.
Once created (or if you already had an existing one) you will need to give the
web server access to write to it. This can be done by chowning the file to
the webserver or its group, or the easiest way is to set the file as 666
(meaning that everybody can write to the file). If you do not do this errors
will occur and the list will not be updated if run from the web.
Next you will want to edit the "dupe.pl" file to modify the configuration
settings, after that you will want to edit htdocs/dupe.cgi to change its
configuration settings to and possibly the first line of both files will
need to be changed to the location of Perl on your machines if it is not in
"/usr/bin/perl" (#!/path/to/perl).
Once this is done the only thing left to do (other than adding emails when
needed) is to edit the templates if you intend to use the web interface. To
do this simply edit
o tmpl/dp_oktop.tmpl
The top part of the page to be shown.
o tmpl/dp_okbot.tmpl
The bottom part of the page to be shown.
These are like normal HTML files.
Running
Once all this is done you can either goto http://www.domain.com/dupe.cgi or
run dupe.pl to erase all duplicate entries from the list.
