Description
Time Redirector allows for you to redirect hits based on if they are unique and how long its been since the visitor first came to the site. The first time a visitor hits the script they will be redirected to a specified URL. If they return within a given time period they will get a second URL, and then if they return again in a second specified time period they will be redirected to a yet another URL.

- Redirects repeat visits based on two (2) time period settings.
Installation
Path to Perl
#!/usr/bin/perl
- The script uses the most common path to Perl however if the script doesn’t run for you, you may have to change the first line of each cgi and pm file.
Configuration
- The index.cgi file contains several variables that will need editing before the script will run on your server.
- $uniq_redir="http://somehost.com/page1.html";
- The first time a user visits they will be redirected to this URL.
- $period_1=10;
The first time period for non-unique redirection.
- $same_redir_1="http://somehost.com/page2.html";
If they return within the first time period this is the URL that they will be redirected to.
The second time period for non-unique redirection.
- $same_redir_2="http://somehost.com/page3.html";
This is the URL users returning within the second specified time period will be redirected to.
- $cookiename="yoursite_id";
You can call this whatever you like, it is the name of the cookie used to track unique hits.
Uploading
Create a directory for the script on your server, which must have CGI access.
Upload all files in ASCII mode.
CHMOD .CGI files to 755.
Running
Simply send visitors to the script and it will handle the rest.
